Nested on Corps de Garde Mountain in Quatre Bornes, is a scintillating jewel on the spiritual crown of Mauritius; the Siva Subramanya Thirukovil, popularly known as 'Kovil Montagne' or 'L'eglise Montagne'. Since it's foundation in the year 1890, the temple has been a constant source of spiritual resource to thousands of devotees, across age, gender and even creed. The temple enshrines the Hindu god Subramanya, called Muruga in the ancient Tamil language and mythologically known as the son of Shiva and Parvati. The Temple's administration is carried out by the Hindoo Tamulall Siva Soopramanien Benevolent Society(Regd. No.192); a strong, passionate and devoted society. The society is also the administrator of the Sri Mariamman Kovil, Berthaud Avenue, Quatre Bornes.
